1600 years old fortified city of Sigiriya is an exceptional master piece of ancient architecture, engineering and the island’s cultural history. It was built by King Kashyapa in 5th century. This lion fortress is defended by two moats and three ramparts. Some breathtaking taking features of Sigiriya are water gardens, the cave and boulder gardens, the terraced gardens, the king’s palace complex at the summit of the rock and artistic frescoes along with the mirror wall.
